The Challenge:After years of rapid growth, this regional aftermarket automotive parts supplier was out of space and needed to move. Siggins was asked to assist in all aspects of the new design including building selection, systems layout, storage media selection, and planning for growth. The customer wanted to reuse existing equipment where possible and couldn't shut down for even a day. The client's promise to their customers is speed and accuracy; Siggins needed to meet that commitment. The Solution:Siggins worked with the customer and developer to design a new facility. In a phased installation, Siggins installed multi-level picking modules and powered takeaway conveyors to improve picking efficiency, as well as, an automatic sortation system to expedite shipping. All aspects of the system from receiving to shipping, were reviewed to maximize system efficiency, resulting in a project completed with no service disruption, all objectives met, and a happy client. |
