Modular offices are generally available in two different types: those that are preassembled in one piece and can be picked up and moved intact and prefabricated which are assembled on site from individual panels, which can be later disassembled and reused elsewhere in the same or different configuration. Both types provide a quality environment for people and can be equipped with their own HVAC, lighting and rest rooms.
The preassembled offic es are generally smaller and less complex than the prefabricated, but are also routinely built like trailer homes, except on a forkliftable base instead of wheels. This makes them adaptable to be used outside or inside as desired. For larger preassembled offices, several can be connected together to form a complex or multi roomed facilities. The biggest caution with this type of office when used inside is to make sure that you have a dock door large enough to get it into the building. This type of office can also be used as guard shacks, exterior receiving/shipping offices, temporary offices or relocateable shop floor offices in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Prefabricated offices are much like office partitions except that they are higher, support a ceiling and can create their own environment. The wall panels can contain electric outlets, telephone jacks and computer cabling, just like conventional office construction. These offices are highly customizable in configuration, size and decor and are quite comfortable. Prefabricated offices can be constructed in any weather protected area including warehouses and manufacturing areas. While these offices are relocateable, it is not something I would suggest doing on a frequent basis.
Both preassembled and prefabricated offices are very cost competitive with conventional construction.
