Security fencing is used to keep the honest folks honest. It can be used to secure an area or products that you do not want randomly accessed by everyone, but is not a vault. In order to make any security measure effective, access has to be limited, creating accountability. Fencing can do that if the gates are kept closed and locked and only a few keys are available.
Security fencing can be used to enclose tool rooms, small storage areas, specialized work areas or simply to limit access to different parts of the facility while permitting air circulation and visibility. This can be prefabricated wire mesh panels that bolt to the floor and/or equipment. This fencing can be floor-to-ceiling, or lower to match the height of a sales counter. Finishes can be customized to the surrounding color scheme to blend in with a store or sales atmosphere. Gates can be people-size, 36" wide, or larger bi-parting or sliding types to permit passage of pallets and fork lifts. Wire mesh fencing can also be used for some types of aerosol containment, but must be of specific wire and opening sizes if it is to be acceptable to the fire marshal and/or insurance carrier.
